A Day in Clapham

Buzzing and bustling Clapham, located between Wandsworth and Battersea is a really cool place worth considering spending a day in while you're visiting London. Maybe not as creative as other boroughs like Shoreditch or Peckham, but there's still a wide range of restaurants and cafes, bars and clubs, and more than a few options to entertain yourself. It's also well connected in terms of transport with almost every other area in London. So grab your stuff, top up your oyster, and get ready to spend a day as a true southwestie.

Brunch at The Breakfast Club

5-9 Battersea Rise, London SW11 1HG

Great vibes and 80’s decor, amazing pancakes, a great selection of milkshakes... What else could you possibly want to start your day? A big favourite at The Breakfast Club are the chorizo hash, a bit different but worth trying! Try to get there early as you’ll definitely find a queue.

Clapham Common

Windmill Dr, London SW4 9DE

One of the biggest open spaces in London, the Common is the perfect spot for some relaxing after that big brunch. You could go for a walk or grab a seat by the lake, and there's usually lots of gigs and functions going on as well when the weather's good (the bandstand at the Common is the largest in London)!

Shopping at Venn Street Market

Venn St, Clapham, London SW4 0AT

A pedestrianised street since 2012, Venn Street Market hosts a weekly market open every Saturday from 10am-4pm. You can find a wide range of fresh food sourced directly from local farmers and independent producers. You can also stop for a drink or a snack in some of the stalls to fuel up before continuing with the day.

Clapham Picture House

76 Venn St, London SW4 0AT

Clapham Picture House is a cosy cinema with a retro refit that offers a good mix of mainstream, arthouse and cult movies. Their café and bar is quite trendy, and they allow you take your drinks inside the screening with you, but that's not the best part: they also have reclining chairs in every screen!

Craft Beer Company

128 Clapham Manor Street, Clapham, London, SW4 6ED

Still feeling like more? No worries, there's still more to do in Clapham. If you're feeling like having some cheeky drinks before coming back home, you should definitely try The Craft Beer Co. They offer a great selection of craft beers, ales and lagers that change often and that you can enjoy in their big garden, which is heated and covered in winter.
